Our Purpose
EUPS was established in 2025 to create a student-led academic outlet for European universitiy societies across the UK. By giving students a voice and an opportunity to develop their skills and ideas, EUPS is creating a space where writing becomes engaging, skills become transferable, and interest in Europe can grow from the grassroots.
Our History
In 2024, the EU Delegation to the UK ran its first European Affairs University Society Network meeting, and over the next year it would establish itself as a valueable network for students across the UK. From this, a group of students met and created EUPS, intending it as a valuable place for colloboration and exchange of ideas.
With support from the Network and the Delegation, they would go on to establish the foundations of EUPS, and we’ve only kept growing from there. Launching in September 2025, EUPS is currently supported by over a dozen societies across the UK – from the universities of Warwick, Oxford, Goldsmiths, UCL, Imperial, Kent, Liverpool, SOAS, Sheffield, Birmingham, KCL, Royal Holloway, and City St George- and we’re only growing from there! With writers from the University of Athens, we have officially spread to universities beyind the UK.
Our Relationship with YEM (Young European Movement)
In October 2025, EUPS entered an agreement with the Young European Movement, home of the UK’s pro-Europe youth activists. The generous support provided allowed EUPS to upgrade our website and connect with one of the UK’s most influentatel pro-Europe youth organisations. Under this agreement, all members of YEM may write for EUPS.
However, EUPS remains editorially and organisationally independant of YEM, and vice versa.
